Sammy Chand

PERSONAL - Sammy lives in Chandler, Arizona with his wife Rajni and they had three beautiful kids; Krishan (27), Nathan would have been 25, and Kiran (23). He works as an equipment repair tech for Intel Corp. Sammy took up golf about 10 years ago after some convincing from his little brother and fellow Montemar player, Ed Singh.

TIE TO THE MONTEMAR - Sammy met Ed in high school when he took him under his wing as his little brother and helped keep him out of trouble. Whatever he did seemed to work, as Ed grew into a find man who landed a sweet job with the State of California. That sweet job led Ed to meeting Nathan Udy, which eventually led Sammy to the Montemar Classic. Sammy is my type of guy, who is very easy go lucky and likes having drama free fun. Nothing better than a guy like that for this tournament and we’re excited to have Sammy on board.

ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE MONTEMAR - Nothing yet but anything helps.

WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN 2024 - Sammy lives near Phoenix where they have two golf courses for every human and most people don’t play golf in the summer due to the scorching heat. For Sammy to have any shot at the jacket, he’ll need to get out on one of those courses and really dial in that iron game. For Sammy to have success at this tournament, all he’ll need to do is bring his fun and laid back self. Success for this thing is measured in fun and great people met and Sammy should get plenty of both.

ODDS TO WIN - 102-1

FUN FACT – Sammy once tried out for the MLS San Jose Clash, which is now the San Jose Earthquakes.
