Kevin Akerland
Kevin is single with no kids and lives in Miami, Florida. He works as a heavy machine broker. Kevin took up golf in high school but had no idea what he was doing. About three years ago he started taking it a bit more seriously, got some lessons, and has been working to improve.
TIE TO THE MONTEMAR - Sounds like Kevin’s tie in to this tournament happened in a very similar way to the way many of us originals met…
At a party house!
Where the worlds of Rio Americano, Jesuit, and St. Francis all collided at some epic pool parties they used to host.
That’s where Kevin met Ryan Butler and that’s his tie in to the tournament. Shocking that Ryan was spending time at a party house.
I believe Kevin is traveling the 2nd furthest distance to this year’s Montemar. The only man traveling further, by a mere 100 miles or so, is that same buddy, Ryan Butler. Kevin is very polite in emails and seems like another great addition to this tournament.
ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE MONTEMAR - Nothing yet but anything helps.
WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN 2024 - I just realized I don’t think I ever got Kevin’s handicap, so it’s really hard to get a feel for what kind of player he is. He looks athletic and big enough to have a clue but you never know with this game. Luckily, for Kevin and the rest of us, this system is built for anybody to have a chance to win. It just won’t happen his rookie year.
ODDS TO WIN – 108-1
FUN FACT – Kevin is a Marine Corps Veteran (thank you) and this will be his second time playin golf in Coeur D’Alene. He also turns 31 the final day of the Montemar. If he knew everything I knew he’d know he’s going to have an epic birthday celebration!
