Alan Reyna
PERSONAL - Alan lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife, Sonia. He is the director of business development for the Revo Group, specializing in medical logistics. Alan started golfing in 1998.
TIE TO THE MONTEMAR - Alan is my kind of guy and likes to book the early tee time so he can fly through his round and get on with his day. One day, many years ago, at West Seattle Golf Club, he was paired with some random dude for the 5am tee time. That dude was Matt Beals and Alan liked that he liked to play fast. They set up a weekly golf date and knocked their rounds out early in the morning.
Alan lost his golfing buddy when Matt moved back to Sacramento, but he never would have had his invite to the Montemar had that never happened. This is because Matt now plays his really early tee time every Sunday morning at my course, Bartley Cavanaugh. Matt invited Alan to the tournament and it looks like we’re getting another great guy because of it all.

WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN - I believe the only guy he knows in the is Matt, who is also a rookie. Luckily for Alan, Matt sees me weekly and can pick my brain on all things strategic to help the twosome navigate our unique scoring system. If Matt asks, I will tell. Alan, like the rest of us, will be a bit at the mercy of the random pairings and draft and hopefully he can adjust to the longer rounds that a shotgun tournament of this size will cause. It’s tough for rookies to do too much damage in this thing but if he sticks around there’s no reason a guy like him can’t someday put on a jacket, or at least come through with a nice top 10 finish.
