Brett Berman
PERSONAL - Brett lives in West Hollywood, California and is single with no kids. Four years ago he founded his second company, called Stream, which partners with companies like Uber Eats, Grub Hub, and Door Dash to allow restaurants the ability to publish a single menu with all third party providers. Brett played golf as a kid, stopped to play soccer at UC Irvine, then picked it up again in his late 20’s.
TIE TO THE MONTEMAR - In a randomness that fits to true Montemar fashion, Brett emailed some dude at Incentivio one day because their companies were natural compliments to each other. That dude was Michael Addison. After a year of sporadic conversations, they spent a week together at a conference in London and a bond was born. Both love golf and restaurant technology and believe Harry Potter is better than Star Wars. Brett was especially impressed with Addi’s ridiculous Harry Potter knowledge and believes the world should know about it.
Brett became the first person in history to actually like Addi. We all love him to death, but “like” is a very strong word and the more jackets he wins the less likely any of us will ever truly “like” him. I can talk as much shit as I want about Addi because he doesn’t know how to read and will never see this. I’m certain his Harry Potter knowledge came from the movies and/or audio books. Enough off subject ranting about a guy who’s been lucky two years in a row. It seems Addi actually did a good thing here in getting Brett to the Montemar. He fills out a thorough profile request form, has a great golf game, fits into a medium shirt (which was ideal at this stage), and seems young enough and bright enough to help keep this tournament moving forward once this old man kicks the bucket. Brett seems like a big golf trip guys also, as I believe he’s playing Gamble Sands with a group the week before the Montemar. Not a bad way to spend a couple weeks. Brett seems like a great fit for the Montemar and hopefully will be for many years to come. Good thing he sent that email to some dude at Incentivio.
ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE MONTEMAR - Brett is thinking on this one and he strikes me as the guy to come up with something clever and cool.
WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN 2024 - As Brett will find out, there’s some things we do here at the Montemar to keep jackets off rookies. That said, if a rookie is ever going to win this thing, it’s going to happen by somebody with a golf game like Brett’s. Also, if a rookie is ever going to knock Addi off his throne, no better than a guy who Addi brought into the tournament. There’s a lot of randomness in our scoring by design but if things align there’s no reason to think a guy with Brett’s golf game can’t crack the top 10 his rookie year.

FUN FACT - Brett and fellow Montemar rookie, Kyle Nathanson, were both members of the Gladiators in the movie, Kicking and Screaming.
